Gareth Gwynn is a writer, presenter and radio producer, currently based in London.

Starting out on Bath University's student radio station, 1449AM URB, Gareth achieved great success at the National Student Radio Awards (hosted by BBC Radio 1), most notably by winning the Gold award for Best Comedy Show in 2004. On leaving University, Gareth progressed to commercial radio, presenting the weekly topical comedy show "Gareth Gwynn's Big Night In" on 106.3 Bridge FM.

In October 2006, Gareth entered the BBC New Talent's initiative "Show Me The Funny", securing a 15 minute pilot show as part of BBC7's "Witty and Twisted" series. Following the broadcast of the pilot, Gareth was invited to join the writing team for Jon Holmes' new series "Listen Against" on BBC Radio 4, contributed to the BBC Radio 7 sketch show "Play and Record" and was part of the core writing team for BBC Radio 7's topical comedy show "Tilt".

In addition, Gareth was part of the initial presenting line-up for Neath and Port Talbot's community radio station 107.9 Afan FM when it launched as a full time station in April 2007. It was for his work on Afan FM, combined with his previous radio endeavours, that led to him winning a 4Talent award for Radio Presentation, in a scheme supported by Channel 4 and judged by Channel 4 Radio.

In November 2007, Gareth joined the newly launched "Xfm South Wales", producing the Roop and Tom Breakfast Show until the station's closure in May 2008. He spent the remainder of 2008 writing for "The News Quiz" (BBC Radio 4), the second series of "Listen Against", as well as working as a producer on the second series of the BBC Radio Wales quiz show "Jest A Minute", hosted by Rhod Gilbert. He also continued to work with Roop and Tom on "B.A.D. Radio", a sketch show for GWR Bath.

Gareth has recently been appointed as contract writer for the BBC Radio Entertainment department for 2009/10. As one of the recipients of the department's annual writer's bursary, Gareth will spend the year working across a wide range of BBC Radio Entertainment programming, encompassing sketch shows, panel games and BBC Radio 4's flagship topical programmes "The News Quiz" and "The Now Show".

Together with John-Luke Roberts, Gareth also presents the topical comedy podcast "Boo Hoo - It's The News!", available on iTunes.
